“Aladdin” is a Middle-Eastern folk tale that has been adapted into various forms of media, including movies, TV shows, and plays. The story follows the adventures of Aladdin, an impoverished young man who falls in love with Princess Jasmine. Aladdin is recruited by a sorcerer to retrieve a magical oil lamp from a booby-trapped cave. After the sorcerer attempts to double-cross him, Aladdin finds himself trapped in the cave. Aladdin discovers that the lamp contains a powerful genie who can grant him three wishes. With the genie’s help, Aladdin attempts to win the heart of Princess Jasmine and thwart the evil sorcerer’s plans.

The story of “Aladdin” is part of “The Book of One Thousand and One Nights,” also known as “The Arabian Nights.” The original text did not include the story of “Aladdin,” but it was added by the Frenchman Antoine Galland in the 18th century based on a folk tale he heard from a Syrian storyteller named Hanna Diyab.

The story has been adapted into various forms of media, including the 1992 Disney animated film “Aladdin” and the 2019 live-action adaptation of the same name. The Disney version of the story features several differences from the original tale, including the addition of new characters and songs.

Our version is based on the original story, with no Disney content.
